Laminate Benchtop Replacement Done Right
If your kitchen benchtop is chipped, peeling, water-damaged, or just dated — you don’t need a full renovation. Banks Benchtops Brendale specialises in replacing laminate benchtops with brand-new solid engineered stone. Most kitchens are done within a week. Simple ones in as little as 3 days.
Spot the Signs It's Time to Upgrade
Peeling edges, swollen chipboard near the sink, faded or scratched surfaces, and outdated colours are the most common reasons homeowners move on from laminate. Left too long, water damage can spread into the cabinetry itself. Upgrading to stone not only solves these problems — it means you’ll never face them again.
What Does it Cost?
Most laminate benchtop replacements come in between $6,000 and $12,000 — fully included.
That price covers:
• Removal and disposal of your existing laminate benchtop
• Supply and installation of your new solid 30mm stone benchtop
• Plumbing — disconnect and reconnect of your sink and tap
• Electrical or gas — disconnect and reconnect of your cooktop
• Digital templating for a perfect fit
No hidden extras. No trades to chase separately. One team, one quote, one job.

What To Bring
You don’t need drawings or exact plans — just bring:
• Photos of your current kitchen
• Your door colours and handle finishes
• Rough measurements of each benchtop run (a simple sketch of the U-shape with lengths is enough)
Our team will review your photos and measurements in the showroom and let you know if anything looks off. The final measure is done on-site with our digital templating equipment — so there’s no pressure to get numbers perfect upfront.
How it Works
1. Visit the showroom — choose your stone, get a free estimate
2. We book a template date — our team comes to your home with digital laser equipment for the final precise measure
3. Stone is fabricated — cut, shaped, and polished at our workshop (typically 5–7 business days)
4. Installation day — old benchtop removed, new stone installed, sink and cooktop reconnected
5. Done — inspect, sign off, enjoy your new kitchen
At template stage you can still make changes — extend benchtops, remove breakfast bars, adjust overhangs. 30mm stone can overhang up to 450mm with no support brackets needed.
While You're At It
Many customers add one or two upgrades at the same time:
• Undermount sink — sleek, seamless, and far easier to clean than a drop-in
• Waterfall edge — stone wraps down the side of the cabinet for a high-end finish
• New tap or cooktop — we coordinate the trades, you just choose the fittings
In most cases, your existing splashback tiles don’t need to be touched.
